Using crowd-sourcing and open-source technology, Hermit House creators Mark and Daniel came up with a clever way to create simple, affordable homes on a mass-scale, without compromising the needs of the humans who live in them!

Low-income and developing communities need DIY, mass, customizable homes. "Hermit Houses" are making pre-fab fab! Co-founders Daniel Venneman and Mark Van Der Net joined Not Impossible Now's Caitlin Bray from the Netherlands to chat about their DIY kit houses (and open-source designs) that are small on space and big on character - As regards "character," the different iterations of the structure are named Emy, Abe, Jean and Elly.

"We believe that architecture should strive to give people a place of their own in harmony with their surroundings."
